American actor and rapper Earl Simmons was born December 18 in 1970. He passed away April 9, 2021. His debut album, It's Dark and Hot was released in 1998 to critical and commercial popularity. The album sold 251,000 copies during the first week. [5][6] DMX's best-selling album,... and Then There Was X, was released in 1999. It also contained the hit single "Party Up (Up in Here). His 2003 singles "Where the Hood At?" The 2003 singles, "Where the Hood at?" and "X Gon"Make It to Ya" were commercially profitable. The artist was the first to ever have an album that debuted at No.1 in the Billboard 200 charts five times consecutively. 7. DMX has sold over 74 million albums around the world. 8. He starred as DMX: Soul of a Man in the reality TV show. The show was broadcast via the BET cable television network Never Die Alone. In 2003, he published an autobiography entitled E.A.R.L. The Autobiography of DMX. 9. DMX began his career in the music industry at 14 as a beatboxer in Ready Ron. After being imprisoned for stealing a dog, the rapper started writing his own songs and performed at the local rec center that was geared towards younger children. In 1988, while being imprisoned for carjacking, he started dedicating a large portion of his spare time writing lyrics as well as meeting with K-Solo and rapping. The mixtapes he sold were made and sold when the release of his prison for carjacking. The mixtapes helped him build a fan base in New York. Percee P and DMX both did freestyles on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show, 1991. [15] DMX released a demo tape later in the year. In 1994, he released "Make A Move" the second single from his debut album. Jay-Z, Ja Rules, and Mic Gérardo were guests on the underground hit "Time to Build" from Mic Geronimo in the year 1995.
