Harden has appeared on stage for the Broadway plays "Angels in America" as well as "God of Carnage." Marcia Gay Harden was born in San Diego, California on 14 August 1959. She was the daughter of Beverly, a housewife and Thad who was an officer in the US Navy. The mother also has three children and one brother. Due to her father's role as a diplomat, the family regularly relocated around the globe as they lived in countries like Germany, Japan and Greece. Harden was a student at Surrattsville High School in Clinton after settling down in Maryland. Later, she attended the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 1980 receiving a bachelor's in theatre in the year. Harden was accepted to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1988, in order to earn her MFA.
